Lakeside breeze , the smell of fish and chess was in the air . The ambience at the Scottish Hotel, as the name suggests the owner is Scottish, was just amazing. Enough of little chit chat and unto the board. On Saturday September 28th and 29th , KCB , Nairobi Chess Academy and Club (NACHA), Strathmore , Victoria warriors ,Victoria Elites ,Kisumu Chess Club and equity were in Kisumu playing the league games. The games were action packed with a few surprises such as Hugh Masiko of Equity and Sinoya Evans of Victoria elites .Sinoya won the game with the black pieces, handing Hugh his first loss in a classical game this year. Equity however won the game with 3.5 to 1.5 .
The game that took the weekend was one of CM Ben Magana of KCB and James Emanikor of Victoria Warriors. James won with the black pieces in a dicey endgame .Despite this loss KCB would go forth and win the game 4 to 1.

(CM Ben Magana VS James Emanikor)

As you can see it was a weekend full of drama and intensity over the board.
